Reverend Keith Alan King is the youngest of seven children. He accepted his calling to ministry in 1992 . In 2000, he received a Masters in Theology (MA) from Andover Newton Theological School.
Reverend King graduated from Howard University in 1987 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in international business. In 1990, he received his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. Upon completion of law school, he immediately entered the United States Marine Corps as a Judge Advocate General ("JAG"). While serving as a JAG officer, Reverend King was awarded a Naval Achievement Medal by the Secretary of the Navy for his professional achievement in the superior performance of his duties. In 1994, he ended his active duty service with an honorable discharge at the rank of captain.
For over thirteen years, Reverend King has also served as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney's Office in the District of Connecticut. As a prosecutor he has worked exclusively in the criminal division handling numerous investigations and prosecutions. In addition, in his capacity as an Assistant U.S. Attorney ("AUSA"), Reverend King is the Project Sentry for the district of Connecticut, offering a unique opportunity for the U.S. Attorney's Office to expand its primary and traditional prosecutorial role in the community, by reaching out to juveniles in an effort to deter juvenile gun crime and promote school safety.
In 2003, under his leadership, Connecticut's Project Sentry initiative received a national award for its innovative efforts to reduce juvenile gun violence from the United States Department of Justice. AUSA King has presented his nonviolent message to over 30,000 students in a variety of forums throughout the State.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut, Pennsylvania and District of Columbia. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
He and his wife, Joaquina, ("Jaqui") are the proud parents of three children.
